And when I depart
And when I depart and am put to bed,
let worms eat through my body.
And when my flesh and bones are lost,
let the ground absorb my deeds
and the nutrients turn to trees.
And if I failed and incurred His wroth,
might I come again with sweeter fruit to yield,
more pleasing than the last;
so nourished be –
my spirit eternal now and past.
